Frequently Asked Questions

How many days per week is school in session?

HCS is in session 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday. We start school at 8 am and end the school day at 3:40 pm.

Is your school accredited?

HCS is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and became accredited in 1998. HCS is also accredited by the State Department of Education through its membership in ACSI and the umbrella organization, Oklahoma Private School Accreditation Commission (OPSAC).

Are your teachers certified?

Yes, they are certified by the State of Oklahoma and by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and each has a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university.

What is the average class size?

Currently we have an average of 12 students per grade; however, we will accept up to 20 students per grade. We feel that this allows for more student-teacher interaction and a higher quality classroom environment.

Is HCS affiliated with a particular church or denomination?

No. We are an independent corporation operated by a seven member board. Hillsdale Christian School is an interdenominational school with several different church congregations represented in the student body and faculty.

What is not included in your tuition costs?

Annual enrollment fee, book fees, bus fee, school pictures, and lunches are not included in the tuition costs. You can view all tuition and fees on the Admissions page.

Do you offer a bus service?

Yes, the current bus stop is located at the Locke Supply on North Van Buren in Enid, OK. See the Admissions page for bus fees & schedule.

Do you offer a lunch program?

Yes, lunch is available for purchase daily at a cost of $3.00 per meal for elementary. Jr. High and High School pay $3.50 per meal. Menus can be found on the Activites page.

Do you require uniforms?

No. However, we do enforce a school dress code. It is the desire of Hillsdale Christian School that students glorify God in all they do, and we consider a neat appearance to be a standard of conduct, in that it builds character and confidence and shows a proper respect to others. Students are expected to exhibit neatness and cleanliness in their hair, clothing, and general appearance. School shirts to be worn on field trips and at special school programs are available for purchase.

Are parents involved in the school?

Yes, we have a very active Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) organization and all families are encouraged to participate on at least one of its committees. Some of the duties of the PTF include serving lunch, organizing class parties, assisting with fundraising events, and grounds keeping.
